Initial research part 18

Broken Heels - Alexandra Burke
The first two shots of the video show playing field lights coming on. I like this because it prepares the audience for the beginning of the song but also seems to show the footage in a more performance-like manner. We then cut to close up shots of young women changing into football gear, this creates a nice contrast between the femininity of the women against the masculinity which is portrayed in the uniforms. The next following sequence still of the women in the locker room, introduces the theme of seduction as we see them perfecting their image - for example looking in the mirror. The contrast of gender is reinforced with the panning shot of the male changing room, which is more drab and dull. I love the vibrancy and bright colour of the female environment and this simply attracts the viewer and makes us keep watching. Once the women get onto the field the intricate dance routine quickens the pace of the song and makes it much more eye-catching for the viewer. The slow motion shots towards the end of the video reinforce the seductive theme and showcase the female singer.
